Al Jazeera's sport channel beIN Sport has extended its satellite distribution by inking a deal with Eutelsat's affiliate Fransat, and introducing a new beIN Sport 1 & 2 offering.
Pre-paid on a four-month period, this offering is included in Fransat HD dish reception packs. Consumers purchasing an HD Fransat pack, including a four-month subscription to Pass beIN Sport, will benefit from a two-month free period. At the end of this time, they will be able to subscribe to the channels for €11 a month. Households which already subscribe to the Fransat service can get a direct subscription to both sport channels.
This deal enables the package to be available to the two million potential viewers living in areas not currently covered by DTT, cable or ADSL TV.
At launch, the Pass beIN Sport is exclusive to Fransat HD dish receivers marketed by the brands Aston and Strong.
