Turner's children's channel Cartoon Network has started the new year by producing local TV content for Brazil.

The productions include Historietas Assombradas, made in collaboration with Glaz Entretenimiento, which will reach screens in March, and has a second season already in production.

According to the consultancy Ibope, in 2012 Cartoon Network was in second place with regard to audience share in Brazil, after Discovery Kids. Children's channels continue to top audience share in the country's pay-TV sector.

The reason Cartoon Network has added more local content in Brazil is due to the new SeAC Law which has established new minimum levels of national TV content for pay-TV channels.
