Zamtel and MultiChoice Zambia have launched a DStv mobile live TV service, with 13 channels covering entertainment, sports, music, children's programming and news.

The DStv mobile product is available in Kenya and Tanzania as well as Zambia, while Zamtel is the only mobile service provider in Zambia to offer the service.

Zamtel CEO Mupanga Mwanakatwe said the company would continue to deploy new technologies to support relevant products and services that make customers happy.

“In line with our brand promise of 'Live life today', Zamtel has once again scored another first by bringing a tantalising array of entertainment, sports and news channels for our customers to enjoy, whilst they are on the go,” he said.

MultiChoice Zambia CEO Simon Botha said the company was proud to reaffirm its commitment to the Zambian market as it launched the live DStv mobile service via 3G.

“We are proud to be partnering with Zamtel to bring the Cup of Nations action to the country... there is no need to run away from the office to watch football; you can watch it on your mobile phone," he said.
