As part of its international roll-out, UK-based channel Horse & Country TV has appointed a local representative to oversee the launch and distribution of its service in Germany.
MBS Medienberatung Sterzenbach (MBS) will lead the negotiations with cable and satellite platforms as well as help market and promote the channel.
Horse & Country TV offers a mixed schedule of programming for fans of equestrian sports and country living. The German channel will combine a schedule of international sports, lifestyle and documentary programming with locally produced shows covering the equestrian scene and country pursuits.
"We are delighted to be working with MBS in Germany. It is vital for us to have local representation as we plan to launch our channel across cable and satellite platforms in Germany", said Wayne Dunsford, Director of International Distribution at Horse & Country TV.
"The team at MBS bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts and they will be central to our strategy for international growth in this key market."
Carsten Sterzenbach of MBS said: "With nearly 14 million people in Germany interested in equestrian sport or leisure riding plus the long tradition of Germany leading the awards in major international equestrian sporting events, we are confident of there being a demand for Horse & Country TV. We look forward to helping make the channel a huge success in Germany."
Horse & Country TV launched in the UK and Ireland in 2007. The international roll-out started in the Netherlands in June 2012 with further countries to follow.
