Sky Deutschland reduces loss in 2012

Sky Deutschland has remained in the red in 2012: the operative loss (EBITDA) throughout the year amounted to between 48 and 58 million, the pay-TV broadcaster announced in Munich.
In 2011, the negative EBITDA was considerably higher (155.5 million). The average revenue per customer (ARPU) rose from 30.46 (2011) to 31.88. No details were given regarding the company's turnover or net result in 2012.
These figures are taken from the preliminary financial report which Sky posted as part of the publication of details of the new subscription right for shareholders as part of which the main shareholder News Corp will stock up its stake from 49.9 to 54.5%.
In 2013, Sky is aiming to achieve a consistently positive EBITDA throughout the year. The subscription broadcaster has still not issued any official statement on the key question as to when it expects to reach black figures below the line.
