LOVEFiLM beefs up UK OTT VOD content proposition with Channel 4

As the heat rises in the UK over-the-top market (OTT), Amazon’s LOVEFiLM has inked a deal with Channel 4 to add content from its 4oD video-on-demand (VOD) archive to bolster its competitive position.
LOVEFiLM now boasts over two million members for its service across the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, offering film and TV content deals with major studios including Miramax, Twentieth Century Fox, NBC Universal, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Disney, ABC, BBC, STUDIOCANAL and eOne.
Under the terms of the new deal with the UK’s fourth largest broadcaster, LOVEFiLM will offer streaming access to programmes such as Peep Show, Father Ted, The Inbetweeners and Friday Night Dinner. The new content will be collated in a specially-branded 4oD collection that will expand over time to include other Channel 4 shows including seven series ofShameless and every episode of The IT Crowd as well as classics including the BAFTA award-winningDrop the Dead Donkey, cult drama series Queer As Folk, and all four series of Teachers.
