Bulsatcom has resolved its carriage dispute with commercial channel provider bTV. The cable provider dropped the channels on January 12 after negotiations over an increase in subscriber fees broke down.
It had been accused of massaging subscriber numbers in order to lower costs.
“The negotiations were difficult for both sides. We are very pleased to have reached an agreement that allows us to continue to offer our customers a variety of content at a balanced price,” said Bulsatcom CEO Maxim Zayakov.
TV7 executive director Nikolay Barekov added: “TV7 works solely in the interest of viewers and will take action to return the signal to the satellite operator.”
Both sides have apologised to viewers for the inconvenience – it is not thought the settlement will lead to a direct increase in consumer prices – restoration of the service is now dependent on the reconfiguration of Bulsatcom’s satellite network.
