General Satellite Corporation's HD 9303 set-top box has won the 'Best receiving equipment' award at the 15th CSTB international exhibition and forum.

GSC claims to be the leading Russian developer and manufacturer of receiving equipment for television. GSC products and technological solutions see use at a number of leading firms such as NTV-Plus and Tricolor TV in Russia and for the One TV terrestrial project in Cambodia. In all it says that the total amount of subscribers using its receiving equipment now reaches 11 million.
Designed and produced by GSC for the aforementioned Tricolor TV, Russia’s largest satellite operator, the award-winning STB supports DRE/ADEC conditional access as well as a number of key services that the provider makes available for its bouquet.
In terms of technology, GSC believes that its software can offer a number of advantages including flexibility and control over technological infrastructure as well as customisation. GSC adds that predicting viewers’ desires, along with other integrated solutions, can make it possible to significantly reduce operators’ expenses, improve services efficiency and users’ loyalty and, as a result, dramatically increase ARPU.
