Ten Flemish TV channels from broadcasters VRT, VMMa and SBS Belgium are now available as a trial service for live and time-shifted viewing on mobile devices.
To enable their respective offerings, and ensure the key crucial element for mobile services of high quality, the broadcasters have deployed Envivio Muse compression and video processing software integrated with new Vinson mobile TV solution and Stievie application.
The combined solution for the three broadcasters incorporates Envivio software-based encoding and the Vinson app for navigation and social media integration. Live and on-demand content for the service is delivered by Envivio Muse encoders.
Launched in February 2013, Vinson spun out of the Dutch company Triple IT and now offers mobile OTT solutions with a white-label application to broadcasters, content aggregators and content distributors, combining live, on-demand and social TV possibilities.
"The Envivio Muse encoders provide our customers with the highest quality video whether for live streaming or on-demand viewing after the programme has aired," said Vinson CEO Michael Plein. "Our collaboration with Envivio has been ongoing for several years, and we are pleased to take it to the next level with our latest generation Vinson mobile TV solution."
Added Julien Signès, Envivio's president and CEO: "The Vinson user interface is an innovative approach that offers intuitive navigation, seamless viewing of live or on-demand assets and instant access to social media for the connected viewer. As preferred partners, we can offer operators a compelling service for mobile video consumption."
