Could a Super Bowl hero be returning home?
As several reports indicate, the possibility is there for cornerback Tracy Porter and the New Orleans Saints.
According to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, Porter visited the Saints on Monday. However, the free agent wasn't immediately signed.
Porter cemented his place in New Orleans history when his 74-yard pick-six off Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning late in Super Bowl XLIV helped seal the victory for the Saints.
Saints linebacker Junior Galette was a little more cryptic in his message on Twitter Monday morning, but seemed to hint at Porter's visit.
The Saints have been looking to upgrade their cornerbacks, having signed Keenan Lewis and courted Nnamdi Asomugha this offseason. But Porter reportedly has also drawn interest from the Oakland Raiders, which is not surprising as Raiders head coach Dennis Allen was Porter's secondary coach in New Orleans during Porter's first three seasons, including that famed Super Bowl year.
Entering his sixth season, Porter is coming off his lone year with the Denver Broncos. He entered the season as the starter, but played just six games mainly due to injury. He recorded 21 tackles and one interception.
