Swedish cloud-based TV operator Magine has announced the international roll-out of its cloud-based TV service in Spain and Germany in the summer.
The first edition of the service launched last week in Sweden. The service has been adopted by local broadcasters SVT and TV4 as well as by international channels broadcasting in Sweden such as CNN international, BBC, Eurosport, National Geographic, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
Magine aims to simplify the life of viewers by removing the need for hard installation of set-top boxes, dishes or cable to offer a secure cloud-based service. It also provides both live and catch-up TV and on-demand programming in the same place across devices.
A phone or a tablet can be used as a standalone device or as a remote control for the TV set or PC.
Magine is currently available on Apple devices and on Samsung Smart TVs. More TV platforms and Android tablets are still to be announced.
