NAB 2013: Screaming Velocity upgrades recommendation engine API

Michelle Clancy | 10-04-2013
Screaming Velocity, a Silicon Valley-based software company that provides advanced video and TV recommendation technology, has announced the latest upgrade to its recommendation engine API for use by set-top box (STB) and digital media device manufacturers, video-on-demand (VOD) cable and satellite providers, and video content websites.
"This latest customer release of our video recommendation engine API greatly reduces the integration effort for our partners," said Wayne Yurtin , president and CEO of Screaming Velocity. "For far too long, the process of incorporating recommendation capabilities into new or existing products has been a painful one, usually measured in months of effort. We believe the time spent integrating with our service should be measured in hours. Our approach solves the issue in a way that gives our partners a huge time-to-market advantage over their competitors."
Screaming Velocity's API allows for real-time adaptation to the evolving likes, interests, and video and television viewing behaviour of each unique user, the company said.
