In a bid to drive its future technology strategy, live and on-demand TV everywhere provider MobiTV has promoted Cedric Fernandes as its new CTO.

Previously vice president of technology, Fernandes over the past eight years, has been one of the company’s key technologists helping to drive innovation in the delivery of media to all connected screens. Fernandes oversaw the direction of the company’s connected media platform, OEM partnerships and R&D efforts, among other responsibilities. Fernandes has been working closely with former CTO Kay Johansson who has moved into a strategic advisory role to support Fernandes and to help the company continue to drive the future of television.
“Cedric has played an instrumental role at the company for nearly a decade,” said Charlie Nooney, chairman and chief executive officer at MobiTV commenting on the promotion. “His passion and commitment for delivering true TV everywhere experiences makes him an ideal fit for this position. In his newly expanded role, he’ll direct the company’s technology strategy including leading the development and deployment of our end-to-end connected media platform so we can continue offering the most innovative solutions to the market.”
“MobiTV is all about creating the most nimble connected media solution possible—allowing our customers to offer users a truly personalised TV everywhere experience,” added Fernandes. “I am excited to accept this position and to continue to execute this company’s vision to innovate and deploy connected media solutions that drive the next generation of high-quality content delivery across all connected devices and platforms in and out of the home.”
