Five French DTT TV channels are worried about François Hollande's project to transfer some audiovisual frequencies to telecoms companies fearing this may threaten the "French TV business model".
NRJ12, BFM TV, Numéro 23, RMC Découverte and Chérie 25 have written in a shared statement that they'll be "very attentive to the process started by French State so as to be sure all consultation rules be respected and that such principles will not be trodden on in favour of immediate financial interests".
The channels also point out the risk of the decline of French DTT platforms, one of the key conditions that helps audiovisual regulation policy be durable in France and serve French cultural exception and production support.
The five channels are notably advocating that all free channels switch to HD.
