When the other workers find out she has an illegimate child, they demand her dismissal. Now on the street, Fantine turns to prostitution to make money to pay for Cosette. She's arrested but Valjean steps in and takes her to a hospital. Maltreated and malnourished, Fantine is on her deathbed. When Valjean promises to find Cosette and care for her, their lives change forever.

He meets a young defense lawyer named Helen Rodin who wants to save Barr from the death penalty. Reacher knows the shooter missed one shot on purpose and he learns that in three years at a practice range, Barr never missed a target. Helen analyzes the clues and tries to convince Reacher that Barr could be innocent. As Reacher gets closer to learning the truth, someone tries to get Reacher off the case.

The school, which is operating at a deficit, cuts all extra-curricular activities in a bid to save $48,000. The cutbacks put the music teacher's (Henry Winkler) job in jeopardy, but Scott has a plan to raise the money. A former college wrestler, he decides to become a mixed martial arts fighter after hearing that they can make $10,000 per fight. Most of his colleagues think he is crazy, especially the school nurse Bella (Salma Hayek), on whom he has a crush. Despite many setbacks, Scott manages to rally the entire school around him.
