ESPN to cover NBA finals in Spanish

ESPN Sports is focusing on its Latin American audience and Spanish speakers in the US by broadcasting the NBA finals in Spanish for the first time.

The NBA finals are popular among the Latin American audience, and with the move ESPN is trying to attract more viewers at the same time as reinforcing its commitment to the Hispanic community.
The coverage will start this evening, with the first of a maximum seven matches that Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs will play. The journalist Claudia Trejos will present the programme in ESPN's Miami studios together with the ex Mexico player Eduardo Nájera. Coverage from the basketball court will be carried out by Sebastián Christensen.
ESPN Sports will cover the seven final matches with live comments from the studio and the venue, and it will also offer special reports in its programmes Sportscenter and Los Capitanes.
On the channel's website there will also be special coverage in Spanish. Gonzalo Aguirregomezcorta, Jorge Morejón and Sebastián Martínez Christensen will produce different content from both host cities with the latest news and analysis.
