Leading Polish cable operator Multimedia Polska has renewed its contract with Pace subsidiary Latens for the delivery of security solutions based on the latter's Titanium technology.
The cableco operates across Poland in over 200 locations offering full triple-play solutions. As of the end of 2012, the multimedia part of its 827,000-strong customer base subscribed to some 1.76 million services (RGUs) including cable TV, Internet, telephony and premium channels.
The new contract is designed to offer the ability to secure content and revenues and support the company's expansion in its domestic territory. Under the terms of the deal Latens will provide Multimedia Polska with conditional access based on secure software as well as professional services, system design and 24/7 technical support.
Latens claims that partnering with the cableco Multimedia Polska will no less than revolutionise pay-TV in Poland. The Titanium Unified Rights Management (URM) platform provides Multimedia Polska with a secure solution that allows its cable and IPTV networks to be secured from a single headend.
"Latens' product support combined with flexible Titanium rights management platform, and willingness to go the extra mile as a technology partner over the last six years has helped Multimedia Polska achieve and maintain the position of second largest cable operator in Poland," explained Krzysztof Jaskólski, CTO of Multimedia Polska. "We look forward to our continued work with Latens in growing our services and customer base."
