BET Networks' singing competition show, Sunday Best, has returned for a sixth season of gospel performances and special guest appearances. The show is the No. 1 reality competition show on cable.
Sunday best features Grammy Award-winning music legend Kirk Franklin as host, and three gospel greats, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winans, return as judges for the auditions and stage show. Season 6 will also feature performances by Chaka Khan, Fantasia, Kelly Price, Tamela Mann, Israel Houghton, Mali Music and Kim Burrell.
Season 6 auditions were held in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago and Houston over the earlier part of the year. The winner will receive a national recording contract with Fo Yo Soul / RCA Records, a new Ford Fusion and a cash prize. The show will run for nine consecutive weeks.
Last season's finale set records for the network, delivering 2.6 million viewers. That made it the #1 show telecast in BET Networks' history. South Carolina's Joshua Rogers was the crowned victor, the first male winner in the SUNDAY BEST competition.
