Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland's free-to-air channels are to become available as live streams on the new Internet TV platform which Swedish company Magine plans to launch in Germany.
The agreement with RTL is the first collaboration of this kind which Magine has signed for its upcoming service. The company will distribute RTL, VOX, RTL II, Super RTL, RTL Nitro and n-tv in its subscription package. The subscription price that will be charged to users is not yet known.
Like its competitor Zattoo, which has been carrying the RTL channels since mid-June 2013, Magine can be accessed through the open Internet and apps, for example on a PC, laptop, connected TV, smartphone and tablet, including the iPhone and iPad.
Magine wants to launch in beta mode this month in Germany. Interested users can already register on its website.
Magine launched in Sweden in March 2013. In its home country, the company has signed up national broadcasters SVT and TV4 as well as international channels such as Discovery, CNN International, BBC, Eurosport, National Geographic, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
