Movistar TV Go, the multiscreen app which allows Movistar clients to watch a limited number of channels on all connected devices, is finally available in Spain, later than initially expected.
The app is available on Android (down to 2.2 version) and iOS, and is going to be free until October.
The Telefonica service is coming onto the market in an attempt to reverse the loss of customers experienced during the past months. During Q2, the IPTV platform lost over 27,000 viewers, fewer than expected but still not good news for Cesar Alierta's company.
The service is going to be available for subscribers to the Ocio and Familiar packages, but not subscribers to Deportes, TV Bar or the former Imagenio's offer Conexión.
Go allows the connection of up to five devices under the same Movistar account, and will cost €2.50 from October.
FOX, AXN, TNT, Calle 13, Paramount Comedy, Cosmopolitan, Hollywood, Nickelodeon, Disney Jr, National Geographic and Eurosport are the Movistar TV channels available for the multiscreen offer. There is also a VOD section with lots of series and movies on-demand.
The sports offer is, for the moment, not available on Movistar TV Go. But a Canal+ package (with the channels showing the Spanish and European football leagues as well as the Champions League) may be available once the service stops being free.
