German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland has chosen the new, automated large-scale testing system StormTest Development Centre HS64 developed by Irish technology company S3 Group for stress, reliability, performance and monitoring testing on a large number of set-top boxes simultaneously.
The solution, which can address up to 64 devices at the same time, is designed to check the robustness of new software releases and product upgrades by simulating usage conditions in subscribers' households. With the system, Sky Deutschland wants to further enhance the quality of its customer premises equipment (CPE) and customer service.
"As we evolve our digital TV platform on a daily basis it is important that we can execute stress, reliability, performance and monitoring testing efficiently on a large number of set-top boxes simultaneously and with different releases at the same time," said Stefan Kastl, director CPE at Sky Deutschland. "With StormTest Development Centre HS64, we now have the ability to do so across all our DTH and cable set-top boxes. We believe this cutting-edge solution further enhances the outstanding quality of our Sky CPE and service."
The new product model in the StormTest Development Centre family will be featured on S3 Group's stand at IBC 2013 (hall 3, stand B18).
