VipnetTelekom Austria’s purchase of the Digi TV satellite operations in Croatia in March cost the company just €0.9 million, it has emerged.

The figure was revealed in the telco’s half-year results that also showed the purchase price for Optika Kabel Infrastruktura, acquired in June, as €800,000.

The acquisition will assist Vipnet in providing convergent solutions in the fixed net business.

Acquisition-related costs for Digi TV and OKI recognised as expense amounted to €100,000. Subsequently, Digi TV and OKI generated revenues amounting to €400,000 and a net loss of €200,000.

Croatia’s economic position has heightened in recent months leading to stiff competition in the market. Vipnet itself introduced a new tariff structure in March.

The Digi acquisition also pulled back on Telekom Austria’s ARPU in the Croatian market.

Revenues in Croatia fell by 3.5% to €98.1million. EBITDA stood at €31.5 million.
