Spain's public TV's website RTVE.es experienced 22% user growth during last year and reached almost 16 million unique visitors in July.
According to data from OJD, which measures audience figures, last month RTVE had the second highest number of users and the highest number from mobile devices.
RTVE.es tops the figures among Spanish audiovisual sites, beating second position Telecinco.es, which has over 12.5 million visitors, over 25% of them being from Mitele.es, the online platform for Mediaset content.
According to the channel, RTVE.es is the site on which users spend more time, with visitors spending nearly half an hour on average while on Telecinco.es they spend 13 minutes.
July has seen RTVE.es break a lot of records. Over 41 million videos were watched and two million audio clips were consumed. In addition, 40% of visitors reach the website from connected devices: 4.8 million people used their smartphones, 1.2 million visited the site from a tablet and 660,000 used a Smart TV.
RTVE's mobile apps are also on the increase, with over two million people using them during July. The most successful app is still the one from Clan TV, the public children's channel which has 1.3 million users.
The most followed programmes during July were the live streaming broadcasting of Sanfermines (3.1 million viewers) and the Tour de France (1.5 million), plus the coverage of the train tragedy in Santiago.
