ProSieben Maxx, the new free-to-air channel from ProSiebenSat.1 targeting men between 30-59, will be carried on the cable network of Kabel Deutschland from its launch on 3 September.
Germany's largest cable operator will distribute the channel in digital and unencrypted at no additional cost for its customers. ProSieben Maxx will also be available via satellite on Astra (19.2° East) and via DTT in Munich and southern Bavaria. Carriage on further cable and IPTV networks is planned.
The launch will take place on 3 September at 8.15pm CET with the German free-to-air TV debut of Hollywood blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger. Further movies to be aired are World Trade Center with Nicolas Cage, True Grit with Jeff Bridges and No Country For Old Men with Javier Bardem.
In addition to movies, ProSieben Maxx will also show US series in the original language version with German subtitles such as Homeland, Episodes with Matt LeBlanc (Friends) and House of Cards with Kevin Spacey. Also part of the schedule are documentaries from BBC Earth and children's and youth programmes contributed by Munich-based media company Yep!
