Advertising in Russia’s pay-TV industry is now growing at twice the rate of that in the free to air (FTA) market.
First half data produced by the Association of Communication Agencies (AKAR) and published in the local press shows that it amounted to R1.78 billion (€40.51 million) or 24% more than a year earlier, while that for FTA service grew by 12% over the same period, though to a much higher R73.7 billion.
Internet advertising in H1 amounted to R31.2 billion and total ad spend stood at R155 billion, a 12% increase on a year earlier.
