beIN SPORT celebrates first year of sports programming

beIN SPORT, the US cable net devoted to international sports, is celebrating its first birthday. During the year, both beIN SPORT and beIN SPORT en Español amassed and televised thousands of hours of exclusive sports events that included some of the year's top competitions.

Programming has included club and international football like FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches; Million Dollar horse racing from Dubai; and cycling and motorsports, like the FIM Superbike Championships.
The networks emanate from an HD studio in Miami where original and exclusive live news, magazine and analysis programmes are produced, anchored by The Locker Room and The Express.
beIN SPORT has distribution deals with DirecTV, Comcast, DISH, Time Warner Cable and Verizon, Bright House Networks, Advanced Cable, Advanced Broadband and Liberty Cable.
beIN SPORT also launched beIN SPORT Play, an HD TV everywhere service matching authenticated subscribers with full online access to beIN SPORT and beIN SPORT en Español, along with live overflow matches. Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks subscribers have access to that.

Among its many first-year accomplishments was the network reaching the highest rankings of social media engagement, according to SocialGuide's Twitter TV Rankings for the week of 7 June, for its coverage of FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. beIN SPORT also held the rankings' fifth and ninth positions, according to the Twitter TV measurement platform.
