Motorvision TV, the German pay-TV broadcaster for car fans, continues its expansion course in new markets: The English-language international sister channel launched in Greece, Slovenia and Romania in high definition (HD) during August.
In Greece, Motorvision HD is distributed on pay-TV platform OTE. In Romania, the subscription channel is part of over-the-top-TV (OTT) offering Orange TV, while the service can be received on Telekom Slovenije's IPTV platform in Slovenia.
The carriage deals for Motorvision HD in Europe are worked out by the distribution agents US Media, founded by James Welles in Munich, and by London-based 3Vision Distribution.
Discussions are underway with interested platform providers in other European countries, according to the broadcaster. Motorvision HD is operated with a licence issued by Bavarian media authority BLM.
The channel, which focuses on cars, engines, lifestyle and motor sports, can now be received in more than 35 countries. In the Middle East and North Africa it is available on Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) and in Asia on TrueVisions Thailand. Viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can receive Motorvision TV exclusively on Sky Deutschland's pay-TV platform.
