Ciao Telecom, which operates in South America, Europe and the Middle East, has announced its entry into the United States with a mobile phone service running on the Sprint network as an MVNO. It will offer IPTV as an add-on to the offering.
Ciao provides international calling plans, a full line of state-of-the-art smart phones and tablets, and bundled domestic voice and data plans powered by the Sprint network. "In addition to our telecommunications offerings we will offer IPTV based entertainment services with dozens of channels packaged for each individual taste," said Eugenio Santos, Ciao's chairman and CEO. "Ciao is also combining our wireless offers with consumer and small business security products that protect your property and integrate with Ciao mobile service."
Santos continued: "We have several distribution models here in the United States, but the one I am most excited about is an innovative approach to monetising social and community networks where consumers can actually be paid for using our services. We plan to release more detailed information on our distribution programmes shortly."
The service will launch with a range of smartphones and tablets from manufactures including Samsung and HTC, plus Ciao will introduce its own line of mobile devices.
"Our coverage plans will forever change the way people purchase wireless services," said Euclides Tavares, Ciao's president and COO. "These plans include unlimited voice minutes, unlimited text and data, and the most affordable international calling rates available."
