Jets come to terms with 2013 pick Brenden Kichton

The Winnipeg Jets announced Wednesday they have agreed to terms with defenseman Brenden Kichton on a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract with an average annual value of $620,000 at the NHL level.
The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Spruce Grove, Alberta, was originally chosen by the New York Islanders in the fifth round (No. 127) of the 2011 NHL Draft. He did not sign with the Islanders and was selected by the Jets in the seventh round (No. 190) of the 2013 draft.
Kichton, 21, played in 71 games with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League last season and was named the WHL's top defenseman after finishing with 22 goals and 85 points. In 333 regular-season games with the Chiefs, he scored 67 goals and had 268 points. He had three goals and 19 points in 42 playoff games.
