The HD launch will take place in Q4 2013 on the cable network of Unitymedia Kabel BW in the federal states of North-Rhine Westphalia, Hessen and Baden-Württemberg, with further distribution platforms to follow.

From its day of launch on 3 September, Unitymedia Kabel BW will carry ProSieben Maxx in digital in standard definition. From 17 September, the channel will additionally be offered in analogue. Cable customers can receive the new service unencrypted and without any additional fee.

In the analogue line-up, ProSieben Maxx will replace a regional channel from public broadcaster ARD which will remain on the cable network in digital; in North-Rhine Westphalia, NDR Fernsehen will be dropped; in Hessen – depending on the region – WDR Fernsehen, MDR Fernsehen or Bayerisches Fernsehen will be dropped; while in Baden-Württemberg, WDR Fernsehen will be removed.
