Four media groups are said to be in a battle for the broadcasting rights for the two cricket home series that Pakistan will be playing in the UAE against South Africa and Sri Lanka later this year.
According to the Express Tribune, Nimbus, Ten Sports, Geo Super and PTV Sports are in competition.
“Four media groups have bid for the broadcasting rights of the series against South Africa and Sri Lanka,” a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official told The Express Tribune. “Nimbus and Ten Sports are the main competitors while Geo Super and PTV Sports are also in contention.”
The official further revealed that the PCB is also mulling over an option of splitting the bidding, which will pave way for two different broadcasters in both cricket series.
The PCB’s five-year broadcasting deal with Dubai-based Ten Sports ended this year.
