Twitter has launched its Twitter Amplify service for sponsored in-tweet video clips in France with TF1 Publicité.
Marketed under the name Twitter Connect, France is the fourth international country after the US, Canada and Japan – and the first one in Europe – to provide this product to announcers.
A sponsored video of the French football team or any other of TF1's key programming content such as Dancing with the Stars, and preceded by an advert, will thus be viewed by French Twitter followers, the companies have announced.
While broadcasting a programme, TF1 will be able to publish on its Twitter account a sponsored extract, along with a video pre-roll from the announcer.
Each extract will not exceed 30 seconds, while advertising will be limited to eight seconds.
The service will target Twitter users through the subject of their tweets or the people they follow.
Twitter claims eight million active users in France.
