FesTVal, the Spanish event for TV producers and broadcasters, starts today in Vitoria, and this year's focus is on TV technologies, with TV apps, second screens and the Attentional scientific analysis of audience behaviour at the centre of the event's technical side.
The Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation has organised a conference about TV transmedia narrative – how to tell stories through more than one TV screen at the same time. The foundation will also participate with RTVE, Mediaset, Atresmedia, Canal+ and Qvemos platform in a meeting to analyse the influence of tablets, mobiles and computers on TV formats.
Also regarding second screens, FesTVal's fifth edition will premiere its mobile app for Android and iOS, through which all the event's news will be available live. The app has been launched in collaboration with Atresmedia, the TV group which probably focuses most on second screens among the Spanish TV channels.
The American company Attentional will present The Attention System for the first time in Spain. The system analyses audiences' preferences and behaviours to try to understand why some programmes are watched more than others.
Apart from these more technological aspects, the FesTVal conferences will also focus on new talent in Spain's TV, new productions, and the Spanish formats which achieve success abroad, such as Pulseras Rojas, El Hormiguero and El Internado.
