Smart TV and connected devices technology provider Vonetize has entered into a partnership with Samsung to offer a multiscreen video-on-demand (VOD) service in Israel.

Aiming to create the widest-spread content service in Israel, Vonetize will pre-load its SmartVOD application on every Samsung smart TV, tablet and smartphone sold in Israel.
The move means that users will have access to Hollywood new releases, library films, TV series, kids' programmes, sports, live concerts, nature and more for a million Samsung device owners. Vonetize believes that not only can it leverage Samsung's strong market share it can also use its top-tier streaming and application technology as well as strong content licensing deals with partners such as Disney, Warner Bros, Miramax, Sky Vision and local TV channels.
"Israel's media and content markets are ripe for the type of disruptive alternative offered in other countries by companies like Netflix, LOVEFiLM and Hulu," commented Vonetize CEO Noam Josephides." Teaming up with Samsung brings our service to over 50% of Israeli households, who can start enjoying premium, Full HD 1080p content instantly, in the home and outside".
Vonetize expects to expand the SmartVOD service into additional territories in the coming months, with first targets being European and Asia Pacific countries.
