The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has awarded Alcatel-Lucent with a Technology and Engineering Award for its work in the implementation and deployment of its Network Digital Video Recorder.
This digital video recorder technology gives viewers complete control over how they watch television and enables content to be stored in the cloud rather than in the hard drive of a traditional DVR or set-top box. This allows several shows to be recorded simultaneously and then accessed anytime, anywhere, and from any device .
The technology also enables a full array of time-shifted services, such as start-over, rewind and catch-up TV.
