IBC 2013: Irdeto claims faster, more personalised multiscreen experiences

Best known for its content protection and security products, Irdeto is now offering customers the ability to not just reduce risk, but also to cut down on cost and time to market for multiscreen services.

The new Irdeto Multiscreen comprises a pre-configured solution designed to empower pay TV, over-the-top (OTT) OTT and free-to-air operators to deliver highly-personalised experiences and generate new revenue on any screen, including tablets, smartphones, IP-connected set-top boxes (STBs) and PCs.

Irdeto Multiscreen offers recommendation engines, social media integration and targeted advertising. It is also, claims Irdeto, “uniquely” designed to easily add on new applications and be compatible with an operator’s existing platform and preferred vendors.

Tapping into its heritage, Irdeto says that Multiscreen will provide a full-range of DRM support and “uncompromising” security for both content and the application. This says Irdeto will ensure operators can offer the consumers’ desired content, cover the widest range of devices and protect their revenue.
