Latvian cableco Livas Telecommunications has extended its multi-year service agreement for the SeaChange CASIS linear broadcast software solution. It has used the platform since 2009 to handle electronic programme guide (EPG) metadata and digital video broadcasting (DVB) table generation for its multi-platform television services.
CASIS manages all EPG functionality and DVB tables for Livas cable and terrestrial customers and also publishes the EPG data online for Livas IPTV. Since the initial deployment, CASIS metadata management has been expanded to 250 channel services. The service agreement with SeaChange ensures support and bug fix upgrades.
"As a multi-platform operator, Livas' priority is to maintain a single, high quality and cost-efficient infrastructure that has the flexibility to grow and serve all of our audiences," said Alex Pavlov, technical director at Livas Telecommunications. "The high quality linear broadcast software from SeaChange, together with their superior know-how, is the answer to our EPG needs today. This is just as it was when we first engaged, which is to ensure service quality and peace of mind where our viewers interact with the Livas brand and offerings."
At IBC 2013, SeaChange will also demonstrate its linear broadcast solutions along with its software solutions for multi-screen delivery, subscriber experience, home gateways and advertising.
