Canal+ Overseas and Ericsson have signed a five-year broadcast service agreement by which Ericsson will manage the playout and ingestion of the content for 22 Canal+ Overseas channels in the French overseas territories and Africa.
Services include ingestion, technical production, post-production and playout across 22 channels, 14 of which will feature regular live programming.
This enables Canal+ Overseas to increase operational efficiency and focus on delivering consumer services and also strengthens Ericsson's footprint in services for broadcast customers.
Ericsson will also provide offices for Canal+ Overseas staff.
The media and broadcast facility will be linked back to the Canal+ file based core content system to ensure a seamless workflow and increased productivity.
Every year, Ericsson Broadcast Services ingests over 200,000 hours of content and produces more than 1.5 million hours of programming in over 90 languages for more than 200 TV channels.
