Online TV keeps growing unstoppably in Spain and Mediaset's websites are again at the top of the figures.
With an increase of 18.2%, the group's sites have regained the first position, which was occupied by the public channel TVE in July. Some 14.2 million unique users, most of them in Telecinco.es, make Mediaset the preferred online TV media for Spain for August.
Although Mediaset's biggest competitor, Atresmedia, has not been audited by OJD's media analysts since February, the latest figures revealed around 9 million unique users for Antena 3 and 2.3 for La Sexta, down far from Telecinco.es, which nearly reached 12 million visitors in August.
Mediaset has also been betting on Divinity.es as a way of diversifying its online offer, and great results have been noticed in August. The site's traffic grew 54.6% compared with the same month last year, and reached 1.4 million unique users. Mitele.es, the live site that is at the centre of Mediaset's online TV, also grew 21.6% and passed 3 million visitors.
Mediaset's channels were also leaders in terms of social TV impact, topping the figures during 2013. According to the company, which names Global In Media data, Telecinco got over 3 million social comments in August.
