Gators sweep FSU, San Diego downs rival SDSU

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 4 Florida swept in-state foe No. 17 Florida State 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-23), in a thrilling match on Tuesday night at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The Gators were bolstered by double-digit kill outputs by senior middle blocker Chloe Mann and sophomore outside hitter Živa Recek, who both had 12 kills.
Florida State jumped ahead by four early in the first two sets but impressive serving by Taylor Unroe got the Gators even with the Seminoles as she aided Florida in going on a 4-0 run in each stanza.

With the 25-12, 25-20, 25-21 win, the Toreros improve to 8-1 overall and run their winning streak to seven matches. With the loss, the Aztecs fall to 5-5 overall.
The Toreros offense was paced by Sandra Lozic, who had nine kills, while also recording five digs and one solo block. Both Chloe Ferrari and Alaysia Brown recorded eight kills apiece, while Katie Hoekman recorded five kills. Jianna Bonomi recorded 19 assists, while C’era Oliveira recorded 15 digs.
