Spain's TVE has presented the five new kids series at the Toulouse Cartoon Forum which it is to co-produce. The projects are supported by the success achieved in various areas including children's literature, videogames and previous TV seasons, and are going to be broadcast by the public DTT channel Clan.
The titles were announced by Yago Fandiño, vice president for kids programming at TVE, at the forum, at which over 250 companies from all around the world gather to focus on the present and future of animation.
The adaptation of the famous PS3 videogame Invizimals is probably TVE's biggest project. The fantasy game will include augmented reality techniques which will experiment with new interactions with viewers. The animation is co-produced by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Another of the main projects is Bat-Pat, based on the best-seller for kids between 6 -12. The comedy/horror will be co-produced with Atlantyca Entertainment, Imira Entertainment and Inspidea.
From the world of books come Cuatro Amigos and Medio and Mica. The first is based on Joachin Friedrich stories about the young detective Charly and will be co-produced by Edebé. Mica targets younger kids and is a project by Plural Entertainment and Santillana.
Desafío Champions achieved a great success among Clan viewers last season, which is why TVE has decided to produce new episodes. The fantasy series is a joint project with Kotoc.
