After an absence from the UK of five years, Canis Media has relaunched the TV Warehouse shopping channel on the Sky and Freesat digital satellite TV platforms.
The channel first came to UK screens in 2001 when it became a well known brand on the fledgling TV Shopping sector on Sky's platform. It was the UK's first on-air brand designed for pre-recorded shopping programmes.
Almost unheralded, TV Warehouse emerged on the leading DTH service on 2 September 2013 within Sky's Teleshopping genre broadcasting 24/7; a similar launch is said to be imminent on the free satellite platform Freesat.
Canis Media is currently sourcing product directly from suppliers with a view to mixing the existing pre-recorded schedule with some tailor made infomercials that the Canis Media in-house production division will deliver. In addition, it will air a range of American and British infomercials, including Beachbody's Insanity, Photo Therapeutic's No!No! and Thane Direct's X5 Mop.
Commenting on the relaunch, Ed Hall, Canis Media founder and chief executive, said: "I have been looking for an opportunity to bring back one of the UK's best loved TV shopping brands for several years now, and we have a fantastic opportunity to grow the brand".
