Specialist international equestrian sports and lifestyle network Horse & Country TV (H&C TV) has inked a distribution deal with Sweden's largest cable network, Com Hem.
H&C TV is currently available in about 10.5 million homes in the UK and Ireland on the Sky platform and on cable across The Netherlands. Arriving at Com Hem will give it a potential further reach of Com Hem 1.8 million homes in total, more than a third of whom are digital television subscribers.
Beginning October 2013, H&C TV will be offered as part of Com Hem's new TiVo Plus and TiVo Max packages as well as on an à la carte basis. H&C believes that Com Hem customers will also benefit from a wide selection of Horse & Country TV programming being available on demand. The channel will be available on Com Hem as a channel specially created for the Swedish market, including local productions as well as subtitling.
"This is a major development for Horse & Country TV as we increase our international presence and we are delighted that Com Hem have recognised that there is a large and passionate audience for equestrian sports and country lifestyle in Sweden," commented H&C TV CEO, Heather Killen. "We very much look forward to working with Com Hem to make the channel a success."
Added Com Hem's chief product officer, Asanga Gunatillaka: "As Com Hem launches its new TV service, TiVo, we are keen to add new and exciting content to our channel packaging. We are convinced that a quality, specialist channel like Horse & Country TV, with an equestrian theme, will appeal to our subscribers."
