illuminate Hollywood is gearing up to launch its iConform solution globally, for content-owners looking to bridge their existing libraries with modern technology. iConform uses a proprietary technology to bring SD programmes up to the current HD and 4K media standards, to help media companies generate new life and revenue from dormant assets.
Stateside, illuminate Hollywood has already remastered TV series for major studios and distribution companies such as CBS, 21st Century Fox and Universal Studios. iConform has been used to create the latest HD versions of many popular TV series including The X-Files, 24, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, as well as several movies of the week and independent features.

In launching its 4K conversion solution internationally, illuminate Hollywood has tapped content rights pro Steve Galloway as senior vice president of business development. Galloway will introduce the iConform technology to content owners, and broker distribution deals for illuminate Hollywood partners, serving as the conduit in finding new audiences for the repurposed programmes.

“The libraries of major film and television studios, independent producers and distributors are full of assets sitting idle when they could be generating significant revenues,” said Galloway. “This programming isn’t marketable because it doesn’t meet current HD broadcast standards.”

He added: “illuminate Hollywood has clearly elevated the bar with iConform, giving content-owners a new and economical way to transform top SD content into beautiful HD and 4K ready-to-go masters. I look forward to both sharing this solution and opening new distribution platforms for classic content globally.”
