Austria's national telco Telekom Austria will roll out the pay-TV offering of Sky Austria on its IPTV platform A1 TV by the end of 2013.
The over 225,000 A1 TV customers will be able to subscribe to all Sky packages including the HD channels. Pre-registrations are already possible at http://www.sky.at/a1tv .
"Through the new agreement with A1 TV, we will increase our technical reach to more than 95% of all Austrian TV households," Kai Mitterlechner, managing director of Sky Austria, said.
"As a platform-neutral provider, we are also happy that we are now finally able to fulfil the desire of many A1 TV customers to access the best live sports, movie and series offering as well as the largest HD line-up."
Sky has so far been available in Austria only via satellite and on cable networks, for example at UPC Austria.
