Romedy Now from Times Television takes to the airwaves

Romedy Now, a new English-language romantic comedy TV channel from the Times Television Network, has begun transmission in India.
With a theme of 'love and laughter' targeted at an audience of men and women aged between 15-45, the media group says its new pay-TV channel will include the "best content, sourced from across the world, and will showcase both movies and series."
"We are excited to strengthen our footprint in the English entertainment category with this launch. Romedy Now addresses that section of the urban audience that boasts of high propensity to spend and who will welcome new and rejuvenated entertainment," said Sunil Lulla, managing director and CEO, Times Television Network.
Upcoming movies include Bride Wars, staring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway (which will air on 27 September at 9pm), while an ensemble cast of Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Biel and Julia Roberts star in Valentine's Day on 28 September at 9pm. The Jennifer Aniston romantic film Love Happens will be on Romedy Now on 4 October.
The channel is initially being launched in India's eight metros prior to roll-out to over a million towns in the country, via analogue and digital cable, and direct-to-home (DTH) satellite. Romedy Now Plus will be the high definition version, while Romedy Now is in standard definition.
