The hit British television drama Downton Abbey is returning to screens in the Middle East and North Africa for its fourth series starting 3 October on pay-TV platform OSN.

The latest series, which opened to a record peak audience of 10.5 million in the UK on 22 September 2013, will be aired by OSN across the Arab world ahead of its US premiere on PBS in January 2014.
Downton Abbey, which charts the ups and downs of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants on an English country estate, has won a Golden Globe for the Best Mini Series or Television Film and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Mini Series or Movie.

The opening episode of series 4, featuring Michelle Dockery as grieving widow Lady Mary, was watched in the UK by an average of 9.5 million, compared to nine million who watched the opening of season three in 2012.
UK broadcaster ITV say the launch of the fourth series of Downton Abbey was the highest rating TV drama of 2013 so far across all broadcasters.

The acclaimed drama penned by Julian Fellowes and staring Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Phyllis Logan, is co-produced by Carnival Films and Masterpiece.

OSN will transmit the fourth series of Downtown Abbey at 10pm KSA time.
