Xstream appoints new CTO

As it expands its offerings and develops technology partnerships, Danish over the top (OTT) and TV everywhere services provider Xstream has appointed a new chief technology officer.

Joining from Netop Business Solutions, Peter Baungaard Holmelin will be responsible for developing Xstream’s new product opportunities and providing technology leadership throughout the company which is going through a period of some activity. Just days before hosting a successful in Nordic Media Summit, which looked at the new age of video delivery and its business opportunities, Xstream announced a partnership with content protection firm Conax to offer what they believe will be the market’s most flexible platform for secure delivery of OTT video services.

Commenting on appointing a new CTO, Frank Thorup, Xstream founder and CEO said: “We’re very excited to welcome Peter on our team…Peter is a key part of our ambitious growth plans. His experience and knowledge will ensure Xstream is well- positioned in the industry to response to change and forge ahead with innovating and strengthening our award winning end-to-end video management system, MediaMaker.”
