Hot on the heels of extending its deal with Disney to bring first run movies and TV series to its customers, Pan-Arab pay-TV platform OSN is to run ABC Studios’ and ABC Turkish’s adaptions exclusively in the region.

As reported in Rapid TV, as part of the deal, over 40 movies will have their regional premiere on OSN this year, including the Disney Pixar film Monsters University and Disney Studio’s Brave and Planes. In addition, Wreck-It Ralph, Oz: The Great and Powerful, Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 will be aired. Disney Movies on Demand will also offer OSN customers new and classic premium Disney films including Little Mermaid, Jungle Book and Peter Pan.

The newly acquired series from ABC Studios include Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Betrayal, as well as further seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, Castle and Revenge. An ABC Studio on-demand service will also enhance the OSN offering.

Intikam, the Turkish adaptation of Revenge, will also now be seen on OSN, as well as Marhaba Hayat, the Turkish version of Private Practice.

The ABC News programmes 20/20 and World News Saturday will also air simultaneously on OSN to their transmission in the US, while This Week World News Now, America This Morning, World News with Diane Sawyer, Nightline and Good Morning America, will also be broadcast live for MENA subscribers.

“This deal with OSN brings audiences across the Middle East and North Africa a superb range of quality content from Disney, Marvel, ABC Studios, and ABC News as well as successful local formats,” said Didier Vanneste, country head, The Walt Disney Company, ME.

“We always aim to bring audiences the content that they want, whenever they want it. With the launch of Disney Movies on Demand, ABC Studios on-demand service and additional catch-up services, our agreement with OSN further underpins this commitment.”
