merges with Swisscom offering

The Internet portal is merging with Swisscom TV online's mobile TV offering and will have a new format from the end of October.

Bluewin's editorial content is also changing as the Swisscom portal will deliver more entertainment from its own editorial team.

Around 700,000 people visit Swisscom's site every day while Swisscom's mobile TV offering is also becoming "more popular, with more than 800,000 visitors registered each month," says the company.

By merging both offerings and redesigning the portal, the focus is on the TV experience along with new, exclusive content.

All channels can be viewed live and free of charge on the site via PCs, tablets and smartphones. Additional TV content will also be available to users in the form of videos.

Depending on the subscription, Swisscom TV customers can use the catch-up function to watch up to the last 30 hours of their favourite TV show. Editorial articles on have also been extended to include current TV programme recommendations and VOD tips. TV shows can be programmed at home at the click of a mouse for the TV-Box.

The portal will keep the Bluewin name.
